British Airways to remove a thousand jobs and freeze wages

The British Airways announced Tuesday the removal of a thousand jobs Cockpit, switching to part-time 3,000 additional employees, reducing the size of crews on flights from Heathrow and the freezing of all wages.

British Airways is “a very serious financial condition” and sought by every means to cut costs, said spokesman Paul Marston.

He said the departures and crossings will be part time on a voluntary basis, and will return the equivalent of removing 1,700 full-time jobs within the cabin crew. Read more…
