The dollar falls, concerns about the status of reference currency

The dollar fell Tuesday against the euro in the wake of press reports indicating that some countries would abandon the dollar as a benchmark for trade in oil, which would be a blow to its status as global reserve currency.
Around 1800 GMT (20:00 to Paris), the euro climbed to 1.4710 dollars per euro against 1.4648 late Monday. Read more…
