British Airways will eliminate 1700 jobs

LONDON – British Airways announced that the equivalent of 1,700 positions will be eliminated in the United Kingdom and is planning to freeze wages for two years for cabin crew.
The British carrier said that these measures would be implemented from late November 1000 after employees Cockpit agreed to leave the group and that another 3,000 chose to switch to part-time schedules.
British Airways adds consultation with employees on these departures that do not contradict any contractual clause. The job cuts will not affect the number of crew members traveling in each plane.
